03 — The name

Two words, one promise.

sun / where it grows

The equatorial sun that grew every tree in the yard. It’s the reason the timber is dense, straight and worth shipping.

marc / who stands behind it

A maker’s mark. The stamp that says this plank was graded, dried and signed off by someone who’d put their name on it. They did.

04 — Colour

Heartwood & sapwood.

Cut a log and you get two colours: the dark heart and the pale ring around it. We didn’t pick a palette so much as saw one in half.

Laterite Rust #964B2A

The heartwood, and the red earth of every Tanzanian road the trucks drive on. Signage, workwear, the stamp.

Sawn Bone #FAF8F3

Fresh sapwood, straight off the blade before the sun gets to it. Paper, space, and the logo reversed out of rust.
